Connections in Chirbury

September 9, 2021 10:40 AM

Dear Residents

Nearly a week on from the telegraph pole being hit we still have no date for the pole to be replaced and hence ours landlines and broadband back. Even 4G has been poor which has made any communication very difficult to say the least.

I am in touch with the Chief Execs Department at both Openreach and BT.

Yesterday I was told Openreach was finding it difficult to get a permit for work on the pole. This was a blatant disregard of the truth. Permitting at Shropshire Council have not had an application for a permit. Gary in permitting is looking for one to come in and is really keen to work with them to get this sorted out.

I have let Openreach know that the field crew has basically not done their job.

This makes me even angrier as they told me last Saturday they could not attend as the Police had not then told them the road was safe. This again was blatantly untrue.

I am awaiting a reply.

I will keep in touch with you all.
