The 3-year Farming in Protected Landscapes Programme has been launched.

In the Shropshire Hills AONB, over £700,000 is available to distribute this financial year to projects linked to farming that can demonstrate benefits to climate, nature, people and place.

The programme is open to farmers and land managers (including from the private, public and charity sector) with land within the Shropshire Hills AONB.

All the information is on Shropshire Hills AONB website at https://www.shropshirehillsaonb.co.uk/help-to-look-after/farming-in-protected-landscapes

The webpage includes the following to download:

  • Full guidance for applicants
  • Shropshire Hills AONB local priorities and example projects
  • Sample application form (an email will be sent with the application as a Word doc to complete)

Applicants are strongly encouraged to make contact and discuss their project proposal before applying. Alison Jones is the Farming in Protected Landscapes Advisor and is able to offer advice, help with the development of projects and guide individuals through the application process.
