B4386 Road closure – Folly Junction to Chirbury update.

By the end of the week, Severn Trent will have installed 1000m of pipe and they are beginning the process of making the new mains live on Thursday.

As part of the new mains commissioning procedure they can only make 300m live at a time, which is swabbed and chlorinated, then sampled before we can continue to the next 300m.

As of Monday 21 June the road closure will be moving. The road will then be closed from Chirbury to the Folly Junction. . Access will still be maintained for residents and the school vehicles as agreed.

They
will also be excavating over Aylesford Bridge (the bridge near the Folly junction)starting on Monday 21 which will be supervised by a Bridge and Structure engineer. This does mean access over the bridge will be very tight so they recommend using the diversion route until these works have been completed.

They would like to remind people that they may not be covered by their insurance provider whilst traveling through the road closure if they are using it as a through road rather than for access.
