Closure of Rea Bridge Brockton

November 3, 2020 4:19 PM

Shropshire Highways propose to carry out repair work to Rea Bridge on the B4499, Brockton.

The work is programmed to start on Monday, 30th November 2020 and is expected to last for up to 5 days.

The normal working hours will be between 09:30am to 16.30pm Monday to Friday.

Due to the nature of the repairs a 24 hr road closure will be required for the duration of the works. While the road is closed, traffic will be diverted via B4386, B4387 and B4499 by a signed diversion

Access over the bridge for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will remain available throughout the works and access to frontages will be maintained up to the bridge closure.

The repair works will involve rebuilding a 2.5m length of parapet/wing wall to the upstream right side of the bridge, general repointing to the inside faces of the parapets and some minor vegetation clearance
