Dear All

Having put everything in place to register for training for Community Speed Watch - including getting the backing yesterday from our PACT - I have been told that the speed camera van will be coming back to us.! This means that they will now not train us for Community speed Watch.

They also say that they are having problems parking the Camera van at the Brockton site as it is soft.

We still have some major issues with speeding and road safety. I will now talk to the Parish Council and get a meeting together for all of us who want to improve the safety for motorists and pedestrians alike in Worthen. There are many issues and they include:

  • Pavement width
  • Accessing the Cock in safety
  • Parking on pavements
  • Speed and poor driving
  • Times the camera van operates
  • The camera van site - improving or finding a new one.
  • School access to the church and the rest of the village
  • The Back Lane Boat.

We need a strategy and a campaign.
