Local Campaigner chosen to contest Bishops Castle by-election

JONNY KEELEY CHOSEN TO FIGHT BISHOPS CASTLE COUNCIL SEAT
Well known local musician and community campaigner Jonny Keeley has been chosen by the Liberal Democrats to contest the forthcoming by-election for the Bishops Castle Division on Shropshire Council.
About Jonny:
l Leading member of the Committee that re-juvenated the Public Hall in Bishops Castle. He played a key role in refurbishing the hall and putting it back on a firm financial footing.
l Runs a local media, website and digital business in the town promoting local organisations.
l Key member of the local band ‘Fight the Bear.’ Very active with community events such as the recent ‘Party in the Park’.
l Mentors young musicians in the area.
l Also works playing music for the elderly and those with learning difficulties.
l He is working hard on the ‘Underground’ in the Public Hall to provide an area for the young people (and others) of the town.
l Lives and works in Bishops Castle – his ambition is a video to promote BC businesses to the wider world. Also wants to run Safety and Online Games information evenings and other community events in the underground.
Neighbouring Councillor Heather Kidd said: “Jonny would make a fantastic Councillor for Bishops Castle. His track record in the Community is second to none. We had had a strong line of active Lib Dem councillors who have worked with the community to best deal for the Bishops Castle area .In very difficult times Jonny will give Bishops Castle a strong representation it needs.”
