Heather Kidd Calls For Action On Danger Hill

Cllr Heather Kidd, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Bridgnorth and Ludlow has called on Shropshire Council to take action on traffic speeding down the hill between Much Wenlock and Buildwas (A4169) after complaints from residents.
Heather said “This is particularly dangerous stretch of road. Its quite narrow and steep as it snakes down the hill towards Buildwas and a good number of motorists drive far too fast for the condition of the road. It has a 60mph speed limit but the real danger comes for those who live along the road, often with entrances from their properties concealed behind bends. One resident I know has barred his grandchildren from coming round after some near misses.”
Heather has written to the Council suggesting a series of urgent measures before a serious accident occurs. These include the possibility of:
Installing warning signs for concealed turnings
SLOW signs on the road and
Possibly the use of the new mobile interactive signs to warn motorists of emerging traffic or slow signs
” All people living in Shropshire ought to be able to leave home without the fear that it might be their last journey. I am sure that the Council can find a way to improve this particular piece of road.”
Heather is writing to the Highways Department of Shropshire Council on this issue.
