Cameron Carries On Waffling

David Cameron yesterday continued his track record of waffling on issues that matter to the British people when he yesterday changed his mind on having a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty and then waffled on about what the conservatives would do about Europe. If he carries on with his political hostility to Europe it may keep some of his back benchers placated but it will leave himself sidelined.
Heather Kidd said “Already the big political leaders in Europe are treating comments from Cameron and the conservatives with contempt. Cameron appears to be confused with pointless gimmicks and dangerous proposals which would mire Britain in an endless round of negotiations. We have had almost 10 years of wrangling over the E.U. and it’s’ constitution and to try and continue these arguments can only lead to a total row with Europe. It just reduces further any influence that we have in the E.U.”
Heather continued “At a time when Europe needs to act on the economy, climate change and tackling serious organised crime, the Tories would leave Britain impotent and irrelevant, bogged down in needless arguments. Cameron has already done enough to alienate Britain’s allies across Europe by leading his party into the lunatic wilderness – now he wants to take Britain there too. Now is hardly the time to pick yet more battles with his former centre-right partners.”
