Rea Bridge Closure (B4499) closure shambles
The much advertised closure of the Rea Bridge 9.30 – 3.00pm went drastically wrong yesterday (7th Feb). The Bridge repair team decided that it would be a full closure – and overnight changed the signs! This has caused a great amount of concern locally. I have received the following apology late yesterday.
“Further to our telephone conversation this afternoon I confirm that all works at Rea Bridge will be suspended immediately and the method of working and road closure requirements reviewed. Their appears to have been some breakdown in communications between the Alliance Partners and men working on site with respect to the road closure working hours, the Permit granted and what was communicated to the public”
