MAJOR WORKS ON KEY ROAD JUNCTION
Major works to replace pipes around the key road junction (A490 and B4386 – South of Welshpool) at Chirbury are due to commence in January and disruption to traffic and residents can be expected for a number of weeks.
Phase 1 of the work, in early- mid January, will see excavation taking place in the centre of the village with work gradually extending off the main road and down Lower Lane in Phase 2 (27th January). A contraflow system with three way traffic lights will be installed in the village during first phase. The Lane will have to close for some of the work during the second.
A third phase will see pipes laid along the B4386 between Chirbury and Montgomery with appropriate traffic control.
