Worthen News November 2012

Although the work by Severn Trent has been disruptive to many people, the main road is now thankfully open. I hope my daily e-mail updates were helpful and I will continue to issue regular updates as the work moves down the side roads. If I can be of ANY assistance to the residents of Hampton Beech, Back Lane or Mill Stream during the completion of these works in their roads then please don’t hesitate to contact me.

scheduled completion dates are: Millstream 10th December and Back Lane 21st December.

The work at Brockton was nearing completion as we went to print. Likewise repairs to ReaBridge , scheduled for 26th November, should also be complete. Work to repair the wall at the top end of Back Lane is also imminent.

Drain cleaning by the Council’s new contractor – ‘Ringway’ – has been far from satisfactory. I have reported one in the lane near Oakfield Cottages which is still blocked and another two in Worthen (in Millstream just below the shop and one on the Main road just down from the old post office). Please let me know if there are any others.

Lastly winter is fast approaching. I have checked many grit bins in the area but let me know if there are any empty ones near you. Likewise if we get a freeze and you have problems getting around on the roads, ring me.
If you have anything I can help with, please email or ring me. Tel; 01938 561651 or 07980 63551.
