Wheeliebins take on speeding motorists

Campaigners in the West of the County have come up with a novel idea to calm traffic. Based on an idea by Heather Kidd, Shropshire Councillor for Chirbury and Worthen, the Safer Roads Partnership is distributing large stickers for residents to place on wheelie bins and other prominent locations reminding motorists of the 30 mph speed limit in their village.
Heather said “This is fantastic news and another way to remind the motorist that people live in our villages and we care about speeding vehicles. A minority of motorists seriously affect the safety of our children and our elderly. It makes villages less peaceful. These signs will be a great reminder to everyone.
