COUNCILLOR URGES VIGILANCE FOLLOWING RURAL CRIME SPIKE

Heather has warned farmers and householders living in the countryside to be vigilant following a spate of thefts across the County in recent weeks.
There have been two local thefts on farms recently in my immediate area alone involving the theft of quite significant items.

In one incident a quad bike, a RTV Ranger mini utility vehicle and mountain bikes were taken at 3 am and in another a RTV, Quad Bike and Power Tools. In the latter theft, men wearing balaclavas were seen on CCTV wearing Balaclavas.

It is really critical that residents in areas like ours mark expensive items like these with smart water if they are kept in garages or outbuildings and you should seriously think of fitting a tracker to really expensive items like quad bikes.
