Dear All
Here is a message from Waste Services:
Although the weather was bad across the whole county there was particular disruption to waste collections in South Shropshire and the former Bridgnorth district yesterday with less than 20% of scheduled collections completed. We have an established protocol and communications plan to deal with such events and I have copied the key messages below for your information. In addition, it has been agreed that garden waste collections have been canceled today in both South Shropshire and Bridgnorth areas in order to allow the crews to support the residual catch-up, and in some cases help with recycling.
This should allow the bulk of yesterday’s residual collections to be completed by the end of today although the thaw may not be quick enough to reach some properties and these may be revisited tomorrow.
The Customer Service Centre has been informed and provided with information for residents should it be necessary.
Key messages for residents regarding bad weather disruption ( on calendars and website).
If we’re unable to collect your waste or recycling due to the snow and bad weather :
Leave your recycling boxes and blue sacks out (as long as they don’t present a trip hazard). We’ll collect them as soon as it is safe to do so
I hope this helps but if you have any problems please let me know.
