New Grant! – the Discretionary Additional Restrictions Grant (DARG) for businesses

Shropshire Council have launched that sits alongside the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) that was launched on the 13 November to support businesses through the impacts of the COVID-19 national lockdown.
Whilst LRSG is geared towards supporting businesses within business rated premises mandated to close during the latest national lockdown,

The DARG scheme will follow the same level of grant payments that the recently launched LRSG scheme does, but will also be available to eligible businesses who are and those operating from residential premises. Businesses within the events sector and retail, hospitality and leisure supply chain not eligible for LRSG will be treated as priority and businesses must be able to provide evidence of losses over the period of the pandemic to be considered.
The scheme will initially be open for a three week period and Businesses are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Shropshire Council may also be required to close earlier should funds be fully allocated before the end of that period.
