Liberal Democrat Councillors in South West Shropshire are working together to
make sure that the Public Health messages about Coronavirus ( Covid-19) are
communicated across the area. Posters have been shared by Councillors, both in
hard copy and electronically, to local parish councils, community groups and
businesses across the area.
In all areas local people are forming new community groups, or volunteering in
existing groups, to help those that are vulnerable or isolated and in need of help.
Councillor Nigel Hartin said ; “Clun Good Neighbours have done a great job as
always in contacting people to offer support. Local Parishes and Communities across my
Division, are pulling together to offer help and support to those who might be affected by the
Coronavirus and delivering essential information to their communities”
In Bishops Castle a new group has been formed to support those in need.
Shropshire Councillor Ruth Houghton said ; “We are very fortunate to live in a
community where people are willing to rally round and help others. In addition we
also need to make sure that the Public Health messages are disseminated across all
of our area including in smaller rural communities”.
Anyone needing support in Bishop’s Castle Division can get in touch by calling
01588 630023. Anyone wishing to volunteer should contact the town clerk on

support may also need the support of statutory services. As Shropshire

given. In Chirbury and Worthen Division please contact 0121 318 5138 or email
