Letter to the press on road repairs

Dear Sir,

Several years of cutbacks by Government and Councils have had their effect.

Shropshire is no exception. You only have to drive round some of our country roads to see patched or degraded road surfaces.

One good idea to solve this problem has come from the Local Government Association. They propose that the Government transfesr a proportion of the Road Tax we all pay from their coffers to local councils to spend specifically on road repairs. The LGA estimate that the transfer of only 20%will make a huge difference. Lets hope the Government accept this eminently sensible suggestion.

Yours sincereley,
