I have been contacted by a large number of residents from right across my area to express their disbelief at this latest bright idea from the Post Office. At a time when we are all encouraged to lead healthier lives and to reduce the amount we drive, our Post men and women are being banned from using bikes and have to use vans instead.
I’ve e-mailed their regional office to see whether this is a local directive or something wider. In a rural area like Shropshire settlements aren’t tidy affairs and many are best served by postmen or women cycling from cluster to cluster.
