VILLAGE BRACES FOR MAJOR ROAD WORKS

The picturesque village of Stiperstones is preparing for some major works that will see closures on the main road for three to four weeks in September.
Severn Trent Water held a meeting in the village on Thursday night where it outlined its programme which will involve cutting down through rock to replace elderly asbestos and PVC water mains.

The work will commence in early to mid September with a stretch running from the junction with Perkins Beach Dingle up as far as Birch Hill at the Southern end of the village. This will take 3-4 weeks. Perkins Beach Dingle will then be done and will take approximately another 4 weeks.

Both Heather and Severn Trent will be providing regular bulletins via websites, e-mails and Facebook.
