Snailbeach and Stiperstones News November 2012

Roads have featured prominently in my work recently.
I worked hard to finally get a date from Ringway (the Council’s new contractor) to permanently deal with the potholes in the road at Crows Nest. Imagine my dismay when I was contacted by local people to say the road was closed! There was no road closure order in place and no diversion. This should not have happened and the Council was not aware of this either. There is now an enquiry going on to make sure this never happens again.
The resurfacing of the road in Minsterley and Pontesbury was also another mistake by the contractor. This should not have happened when the Worthen road was closed and traffic had been diverted this way.
I would like to congratulate Sue Cooke and all the staff at StiperstonesSchool for the really good OFSTED report they received. It just proves that the hard work that staff, parents, children and the community have put in pays off. This is a school here to stay!
I have given out 30 mph stickers for wheelie bins in Stiperstones and ran out because they were so popular. I have now got hold of some more for Snailbeach if people want them. Research shows that they have a significant impact on speeding traffic.
I have checked most of the grit bins and they seem to be full. If any have been missed, please, let me know.
