WORTHEN area news

Worthen Areas Issues
The road closure has taken up a lot of everybody’s lives recently. The end is now however, is in sight. They hope to be finished on the main road and starting on the side roads by 30/31October. I will be sent a programme of work for the side roads and will circulate it to all those I have emails for as soon as I have it (e-mail me on heather.kidd@shropshire.gov.uk if you would like to be added to the list.). The other good news is that those who have applied for business compensation have found the process quick and easy and are pleased with the payments.
The Rea Bridge on the Leigh road will be closed for 2 days starting on 26 November as workmen carry out repair to the parapet. It will be closed from 9 am to 3.30 pm each day.

I have started delivering 30 mph stickers for wheelie bins in Brockton and will finish Worthen as soon as possible. The idea is to remind traffic to stick to the limit every time you put the bin out.

The Brockton to Rowley road. This is in poor condition at present. The Council were due to start work about now. However, due to the ongoing works in the Brockton/Worthen area this has been delayed till March. It will focus on the section up the bank from Hampton Beech

The gulley emptying programme in rural areas is currently taking place so the gullies on our roads should be emptied soon. If they appear still to be blocked after their visit, please get back to me.
