Heather Kidd Ridicules Osborne’s Bank Proposals

Heather Kidd today attacked Tory Shadow Chancellor, George Osborne, proposals to make bankers take most of their Christmas bonus in shares.
Heather said “Does he not realise that his plans would mean taxpayers footing the bill? If the state owned banks such as Lloyds or RBS paid bonuses using shares then they would have to issue new equity, which would reduce the taxpayers holding. I find it extraordinary that the Tory Shadow Chancellor appears to be ignorant of how shares work! He obviously hasn’t clue on how markets and public companies operate.”
Heather continued “It has even been reported in the papers that bankers are saying that they are baffled by Mr Osborne’s comments.”
