Heather Kidd, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Ludlow and Councillor for Chirbury and Worthen has slammed the Conservative Administration on Shropshire’s Budget proposals:
Heather commented “This budget plan is all about cuts over the next few years. They could be severe but it is difficult to look at the impact here. The Conservative Cabinet to need treat us as being adult and give us real choices, tell us where cuts could be and what it will mean in plain English. As Tax payers we need to decide our priorities – as it is our services that will be affected. What we don’t need is a consultation that we do not understand. We do not want to be facing the shock of the 90 year old suddenly not being eligible for care, the school closing or school children and working people being stuck in hilly rural villages when it snows because their gritting routes no longer run. As usual the Devil is in the detail and we need to be consulted on that. I believe that cuts should come internally first and front-line services last.”
