New Conservative Shropshire Council Councillors seem to be enjoying the financial benefits without apparently putting in the work. It would seem that the new development control feel that they can ignore the fact that planning is facing huge backlogs. Out of 11 councillors only half turned up for the July meeting! Cllr Wynne puts this down to it being summer, but isn’t the recess in August?
Three Conservative Councillors have strong building interests, Cllr Dakin (property owner and landlord with a number of rented properties throughout North Shropshire), Cllr Mullock (son is a local builder) and Cllr Wyne. What chance has Shropshire got of seeing any new direction on the planning front.
We expect better of the newly elected council.
