GASTRONOMIC TOURISM INITIATIVE LAUNCHED IN  SOUTH WEST OF COUNTY

Councillors along Shropshire’s Western borders are launching an ‘Eat Local’ campaign to keep our local eateries busy into the Autumn months.
Last year we had a big hit with two brochures we published – ‘Buy Local’ and ‘Eat Local’. The first encouraged local residents to buy from local shops through the pandemic whilst the second encouraged locals and visitors alike to eat at our pubs and cafes. The latter proved such a BIG hit with B+Bs, caravan sites, campsites etc. that we re-launched a revised leaflet this week.

We have a big opportunity this year with many more people holidaying in the UK and all our tourism orientated businesses need to take maximum advantage of this boost into to autumn months. We know that last year our leaflet helped visitors connect with many eating places and we hope that this year we can achieve even greater coverage.
Ruth, Heather and Nigel have been getting as many of these leaflets out as possible to local accommodation providers including campsites, guest houses, air B and B’s, holiday cottages and glamping pods. If any business owners want copies for their guests, then contact Heather on 07980 635518.
