EE COMES CLEAN ON SIGNAL

After months of campaigning EE at last send two spokesmen to talk to residents and their representatives in the Clun and Bishops Castle area where the campaign started in April.
John Carwadine, Head of EE’s UK Community Service Manager and Gareth Hewitt Head of EE Community Advice, came to a meeting of the Clun, Bishops Castle, Chirbury and Worthen Local Joint Committee held at Edgton Village Hall on Thursday night. They came to address the litany of complaints about declining service and poor customer care brought against the mobile phone provider by local residents.

Police are going to step up the pressure on speeding motorists in a West Shropshire Village after a long running campaign by a local councillor backed by village residents.
This is really good news. For years residents have been plagued by the irresponsible few speeding through the villages of Worthen and Brockton. What makes the situation particularly bad is a combination of straight roads and narrow pavements (c1m wide in places). Its particularly hairy if you are walking children to school.
The police have tried hard over the last few months and booked a good number of people but now they are taking the gloves off. The Road Safety Partnership* a bringing in a speed camera van and adopting a ‘zero tolerance’ approach to speeding. There will be no more warnings for people over the limit.

Last week Police booked 6 motorists for speeding, 2 for no seat belt and 1 for no MOT in Worthen.

* A partnership between the police, Shropshire Council and community groups.
