Heather Kidd Supports ‘Real’ Policing Pledge

Ludlow and Bridgnorth Prospective Liberal Democrat MP, Heather Kidd, has given her support to local Police Officers by signing up to the Police Federations ‘Real’ Policing Pledge. Heather often meets with members of the local police force to discuss how to make our communities even safer.
Commenting on the Police Federation Real Policing Pledge, Heather said:
“I strongly support the good work of our Police Service and I believe that police constables are the bedrock of the police. I am committed to neighbourhood policing through the valuable work of both well-trained police constables and police community support officers, both of which have a vital role to play in ensuring safer communities.”
Paul Lewis, Chairman of the Constables’ Central Committee of the Police Federation for England and Wales has praised the Liberal Democrats for their commitment to put 3000 extra police on the street. Mr Lewis has recently written to Liberal Democrat campaigners saying:
“I was pleased to see that the Lib Dems’ Safer Streets manifesto calls for a further 3000 police officers on our streets – it is certainly a step in the right direction and the firmest central commitment yet from a mainstream political party.”
