Heather Kidd Wins National Campaigning Award

Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate for Ludlow, Heather Kidd (above), has won the Countryside Alliance’s ‘Grassroots Campaigner of the Year’ award for her efforts in campaigning on behalf of schools, post offices and other rural services. There were 2,500 nominations for a variety of national awards from ‘Community Shop of the Year’ and’ Rural Business of the Year’ to’ Rural Vision’ and ‘Rural Hero of the Year’.
The National judging panel were; Simon Hart, Chief Exec Countryside Alliance, Stuart Burgess- the Rural Advocate, the Daily Telegraph’s Andrew Pierce and Farmer’s Weekly’s Tim Relf.
After the presentation Heather said:
“I was delighted to be short-listed- that was an honour – but to win this for our work in South Shropshire is a wonderful recognition of the District Council, its officers, my Liberal Democrat team and those who supported us. I thank them all. This is a fitting end to a good Council. Special thanks go to Graham Biggs, James Caird, Bill Jones and Jake Berriman who made a great team. “
